What time of year is best to start a build?

Spring and early summer are ideal because you get the foundation in and the house dried in before winter. That said, we build year round and simply schedule the foundation stage around hard freezes. Waiting for perfect weather usually costs more than it saves.

How far out are you usually booking?

It moves with the season. Smaller projects like decks can sometimes fit in within a few weeks, while a full house needs planning further ahead. Call and ask where the calendar sits, because the honest answer changes month to month.

Question 3

Should we have financing arranged before calling you?

Accepted Answer

It helps but it is not required to have a first conversation. If you are working with a bank on a construction loan, they will want a builder and a plan in hand, so talking to us early actually makes that part easier rather than harder.

Can you tell us if our budget is realistic?

Accepted Answer

We will give you our honest read. If what you are picturing does not line up with what you want to spend, we would far rather say so at the kitchen table than discover it halfway through a build. Sometimes the fix is as simple as adjusting the footprint.

What hours will your crew be working?

Generally eight to six on weekdays and mornings on Saturday, which lines up with our posted hours. Our customers often comment that the crew works straight through with only a lunch break, and that is a fair description of how a day goes.

Do we need to be there while you work?

No. Plenty of our customers are at work all day or living out of state while we build. We keep you updated by phone so you always know what is happening, and we will flag anything that genuinely needs a decision from you.

Where do materials get stored during the build?

We stage them on site in a spot we agree on with you beforehand, keeping deliveries clear of your driveway and anything you need daily access to. Lumber gets covered, and we keep the stacks tidy rather than spread across the whole yard.

Is the site safe with kids or livestock around?

We are conscious of it, particularly on rural properties. Tools get put away at the end of the day, scrap and fasteners get picked up rather than left in the grass, and we will talk with you about fencing or gates if animals are a factor.

Do we choose our own fixtures and finishes?

Yes, and most people enjoy that part. Cabinets, flooring, tile, lighting and hardware are all yours to pick. We will tell you which choices affect the schedule so you know which decisions need making early and which can wait.

Can we supply some of our own materials?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes. If you have found something you love or already own material you want used, bring it to us and we will work it in where it makes sense. We will be upfront if something will not hold up the way you are hoping.

Do you have suppliers you normally work with?

We do, and those relationships help when something needs to arrive quickly or a question comes up about an order. You are welcome to shop elsewhere for finishes, but our regular suppliers usually make the ordering side easier.

What happens if something we picked is back-ordered?

We tell you as soon as we know and lay out the options, which are usually to wait, to substitute something similar, or to reorder the work so the delay does not stall everything else. We would rather adjust than have you find out from an empty room.

Can we stay in the house during an addition?

Usually yes. We stage the work so the existing house stays livable, and we only open up the connection between old and new when we are ready to close it back in. It is not silent, but it is manageable for most families.

Will an addition match our existing house?

Accepted Answer

That is the goal, and it takes some care. Siding, roof pitch, window style and trim details all have to line up, and older homes have often settled. We match as closely as materials allow and tell you honestly where a difference will show.

Do you take on interior remodeling?

We do. Kitchens, baths, flooring, tile and opening up walls between rooms are all regular work for us. Some of our reviews come from tile and flooring jobs rather than whole houses, and we hold the same standard on both.

Can an existing porch be closed in as a sunroom?

Often it can, though it depends on how the porch was built. The foundation and roof structure have to be adequate for a conditioned space. We will come look and tell you whether it makes more sense to convert it or start fresh.

What if something needs attention after we move in?

Call us. New houses settle and occasionally something needs a small adjustment in that first year. That is normal, and it is not a hassle for us to come back out and take care of it.

What coverage comes with the work?

Appliances, windows and manufactured products carry their own manufacturer coverage, and we pass that paperwork along to you. For the building work itself, talk to us about what is included before the job starts so it is clear in writing rather than assumed.

Will we get information on what was installed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We pass along the documentation on what went into the house so you are not guessing about a furnace model or a window brand years down the road when something needs servicing or replacing.

Will you come back for future projects?

Accepted Answer

Gladly, and it happens often. One of our customers finished a project with us and told us the next one on the list was their shower. Repeat work from people we have already built for is the part of this job we like most.
